Iniesta: Captaining The Barça Would be a Lifelong Dream
Andres Iniesta has already admitted that being named Barcelona captain possible the realisation of a "lifelong dream".
30 year old midfielder is in the frame for skipper’s role following retirement of Carles Puyol and the departure of Victor Valdes.
And the Iniesta, who is a product of the Barcelona's youth academy, would relish opportunity of leading Catalans as they seek to the reclaim the league title from the Atletico Madrid in Luis Enrique's first season in charge.
He told Spanish sports daily El Mundo Deportivo: "Moments like these make you feel both proud and happy.
"For those of us who have been in first team for long time and move toward through ranks at club, captaining the first team is a lifelong dream, an additional step in your career and proof that you are still improving like a player.
"Though, on the flipside, it represents you are getting older!"
Toughened up
Iniesta, who was part of Spain's disappointing 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ campaign, revealed he is looking forward to the new season after Barcelona flattered to deceive in 2013/14.
"The truth is that I'm really happy to be part of this squad," he said. "The experiences you go through, not just on the pitch, but on a personal level, toughen you up, they make you a better person and a better player."
